Feelings List & Wheel

Identifying what we are feeling is the first step in fulfilling our needs but that can be difficult at times. And once we have identified our emotions, accurately pin-pointing what those needs are is difficult for many of us too. This list will help you do just that.

Needs List

If childhood needs were met inconsistently or they were rejected or neglected it creates a insecure attachment style. Learning to link emotions to needs and meet them consistently is step in healing attachment wounding and becoming securely attached.

Sensation Wheel

Emotions are electromagnetic signals between the brain and body and are felt in the body as sensations.

Emotions carry important information.

When we are triggered we are not reacting to the trigger,  whether that trigger is pressed by a person or an event, we are reacting to a sensation in our body.

When the sensation is pleasant we react with positive emotions and action.

When the sensation is unpleasant we react with negative emotions and actions.

Learning to observe thoughts, emotions and sensation and take appropriate, effective actions is nervous system regulation.

Acting according to the information versus reacting unconsciously is emotional and nervous system mastery.
